Miguel and Erika's The Centre (Escondido Lexus Dealership) Wedding
I met Miguel many moons ago at a prior place of employment. I always thought of him as a very genuine, loving, charming, and overall sweet type of guy. I admired Miguel for that. Back in those days, he was single and looking for his soulmate. Someone he could love for the forever time frame. Being the sweet man he is, I knew his forever someone was out there and it was just a matter of time until they found each other.
To no surprise, Miguel found his forever someone! Earlier this year, I was so excited to hear he was engaged. He follows me on Facebook and Instagram and after reading some of my blogs, he contacted me about being his San Diego Wedding DJ. I set up our first meeting at their reception venue, The Centre (next to Vintana on the rooftop of Lexus Escondido). It was the first time I met Miguel’s soulmate - Erika. After speaking with them for just a few minutes, I instantly saw how madly in love they were with each other. She is absolutely perfect for him. I’m always helping all kinds of couples come together and celebrate their love, but this was a little extra special because my old buddy Miguel had finally found his one.
Miguel and Erika had been dreaming of this day for a while and had the majority of the wedding planned out. I took their plans and guided them to reality. Miguel and Erika had a Beautiful Catholic ceremony at St Francis Catholic Church.
Miguel arranged for a white Rolls Royce to pull up and wait outside of the church after the ceremony. The Rolls Royce took them off for romantic photos and then on to the reception. I was not there for the ceremony, but I had everything all set up at the reception for their guest to arrive prior to them and enjoy cocktail hour. I was really impressed with Miguel’s ideas. He had even picked a park that was special to Erika for their photos.
At cocktail hour, I had a big screen TV staged to play a slideshow of their engagement photos prior to playing the video of Miguel proposing to Erika. I had the video of the proposal timed perfectly to end right as the newly weds made their grand entrance.
As our couple made their way to the middle of their friends and family, I began playing the first dance song. Miguel immediately took his wife’s hand and guided her on their journey to their first dance. He later told me that single moment was one of the most important moments he’d ever had in his life. We followed up with parent dances. I could really see how important family is to these two. When Erika took her mom out onto the dance floor, I have to admit I was a little misty eyed.
After dinner, we got into the fun stuff! We opened up the dance floor and the newly weds were right there in the middle surrounded by what I could only explain as love and support.
As the sun started to set, I put up an animated monogram along with uplights of Erika’s favorite color. We filled the rest of the evening with dancing and the photo booth! Everything turned out just as it should have. I am so happy for my dear friend and his amazing new wife!
I want to give a big thank you to Tina of Tina Q Photography for these gorgeous photos. Another big shout out to the staff of our wedding venue The Centre for keeping up with the timeline and always being available. Lastly, a big thank you to my friends Miguel and Erika for trusting my team with your wedding.
